It's that time of year again, birds are chirping, love is in the air. Whoever you are - single, dating, married, divorced, with or without love, Valentines day can be day about feeling sexy and good about yourself. You dont need someone else to love you! Dont feel down, try out this sexy, dark and low maintanence look! Perfect for a hot date or just enjoying that glass of bubbly alone on the couch at home.
1. Do a dark smokey eye - as best as you can, Im not too good at this, but it takes a bit of practice.
2. Add a great dark red sulty lip. Try Estee Laude Pure Colour Lipstick in Plum Couture
Featured: Valentines Day Nails
Found this lovely Valentines inspired manicure here and I thought it was SO gorgeous, I decided to share it with you all!
What you will need:
Base & Top Coat
Dark Pink
Medium Pink
Light Pink
Reinforcement stickers
Dark Pink
Medium Pink
Light Pink
Reinforcement stickers
Steps
1. Start with either your darkest pink or lightest pink. (I will do
both for you!) Try to use colors that have good coverage with just one coat, you want this layer to dry completely before the next step.
2. Put 2 reinforcement stickers together (should look like an “8”)
and place them towards the bottom of your nails. You are going to do
this twice so look at your nail and cover 1/3 of each. We want to make
room for all 3 of the colors for the final look!
3. Paint your medium color. If possible just paint 1 coat, you will
also want this to dry completely before placing stickers on your nails
again. I personally like to use quick drying nail polish for the first
and middle layers. (Sally Hansen has a bunch of great colors that are “Insta Dry”!!)
4. Remove the stickers when the paint has dried with your medium
shade. Waiting for it to dry is important because removing the sticker
too soon will cause the nail polish to smear and not have clean lines.
TRUST me. :)
5. Now repeat steps 2 & 3 this time using either your darkest
pink or lightest pink. (I was able to reuse my stickers so I used 20
stickers total.)
6. Remove the stickers once that layer has dried and check out those
nails!!! At first they may look choppy and layered but once your apply
your top coat it will even out and complete the look on your nails. Plus
putting stickers on your nails can dull your color some so this also
helps your colors be bright and shiny again.

Estée Lauder South Africa spoiled me & told me everything every woman young and old should know about skincare!
Estée Lauder called me up and asked me to meet for a counter experience at the V&A branch in Edgars. I was so nervous, not knowing what to expect.
But it was such a delightful experience and I learnt SO much from it about skin care, all the things i've wanted to know.
Sue, Estée Lauder's senior skincare professional at the V&A helped me by pointing out all the Estée Lauder products that I should use for my skin type. Sue was amazing, kind and knew exactly what could help me. Plus my mom's name is Sue, so I felt right at home. My skin type is very sensitive, im fair and my skin gets dry very easily, so I should focus on using skin care products that are not too "active" according to Sue. If I use a harsh face wash I end up with tight skin and this can lead to me having blotches of dry skin and flakiness (gross I know). So you can imagine everything Sue told me was like gold to my ears. Im also prone to having dark circles under my eyes and redness (which stands out like no one's business becuase im so fair.)
I will share the tips and products I learned in the next post, if you struggle with similar skincare issues, im sure it will be greatly helpful! I will also talk about Estée Lauder's Idealist - "Even skintone illuminator which fights discolourations, sun spots, dark spots, blotchiness, redness and traces of acne." Im sure EVERY girl has that bad skin day and tries many witch doctor forms of curing that giant red spot that wont get ANY lighter. I will be tested and chatting about this product which I can say im very excited about! When I got home I asked dean to snap a few pics of me with the info pages and personal skincare analysis form that Sue gave me. As you can see the photoshoot got a little bit crazy! haha

Estée Lauder Beauty Glamour Girl top 10 finalist - ME
...now that I got that little squeek of excitment out!
Just for those of you who arent directed here via the Estee Lauder South Africa facebook page, I am one of the top 10 finalists in the running to be the Beauty Glamour girl. eeek! how exciting! I originally heard about this through capetowngirl who always seems to be ontop of whats going on, I love her blog! I cant wait to dive into this head on, im so excited!
Whats it about you ask? - From the official statement:
“The Beauty Glamour Girl will receive Estée Lauder
products to review and share her reviews with the ladies on the Estée
Lauder South Africa Facebook page. She will be the first to try new
Estée Lauder products, attend launches and report on all things beauty.
This opportunity is open to all ladies who wish to pursue their love for
writing and sharing their opinions with others.”
Here are my answers that got me this far:
What makes a woman beautiful?
I think that a beautiful woman is someone who is confident, someone who embraces their individuality and doesn't let the world tell them how to act, dress or live. Loving yourself is the key to beauty and with this self-love the love for others will come naturally, giving you a glow of positive radiant energy. What could be more beautiful than that? Beauty is putting your best foot forward, leaping into things and always making that first impression the best one. Respect your body and tell the world about what's inside by reflecting it on the way you treat your outside.
What does the Estée Lauder brand mean to you?
I love Estee Lauder, to me it represents glamour and sophistication. I love looking my best whenever I step out of the door and with Estee Lauder I feel 100% ready. What I love about it most is that all the make up is made so well that it lets my skin breathe and really feels luxurious. I love the brand which spans over so many options; skincare, make up and fragrance. 3 things KEY to a woman's survival. Lastly, the head office of Estee Lauder is in New York City - A glamour girls #1 stop destination! AH! dream!
Why do you want to become the Estée Lauder Beauty Glamour Girl?
I think that I would be amazing as the Estee Lauder Beauty Glamour Girl as I am a very outgoing person and I LOVE beauty and all things to do with my appearance. I love to talk, tweet, instagram and blog like a mad woman. I am a graphic designer and an aspiring web developer, the internet is my playground and I love to be involved in everything and create a buzz. I would update, upload and edit my life with Estee Lauder for the world to see & enjoy. I love to be involved in social events and I think that Estee Lauder would benefit from having someone like me on their team; I can make conversation with a rock and still look glamorous doing it! I think I would be great at this and I would LOVE to be considered for the opportunity!

(lamest title, I know!)
I have a sad bang life right now, trying to grow them out and it is proving to be a serious PAIN.
Ive been searching the net for tips on how to make this proccess not so terrible & I thought id share them with you!
2. The fringe side plait, life saver for me and I also do this to hide a bad hair day.
or the side fringe roll & clip, which im also a fan of!

Ive been searching the net for tips on how to make this proccess not so terrible & I thought id share them with you!
1. Dont give up and cut your bangs short again, trust me ive fallen for this one toooo many times. A big social event comes up and your hair wont do anything but look like a hot mess with a weird mid length fringe. So SNIP SNIP I go!
2. The fringe side plait, life saver for me and I also do this to hide a bad hair day.
or the side fringe roll & clip, which im also a fan of!
3. Get your hair cut to suit bangs that are growing out, great idea.
4. Clipping that fringe back! Im not a huge fan of headbands or clipping my fringe back 100% as I have a huge forehead and this is not a flattering look for me, but for everyone else who wasnt given such a generous forhead, go ahead.!
So now dont let "im growing my bangs out" be your reason not to leave the house! Use this and go forth into the world!

How to love your curls.
but today I thought id come share some of my recently found wisdom -.*
How to love your curls.
I have straightened my hair for as long as I can remember and I still have an intimate relationship with my darling GHD and probably will untill I die. But recently ive tried to embrase a more careless look…I dont know.
here are my tips for hair that looks gorgeous when curly. for those who dont already know/do this.
1. Use a salon shampoo, conditioner and treatment. I use Schwarzkopf Resue Repair and its amazing! Its totally worth the money but if you (like me) go through a rough month with the money..Use a natural gentle shampoo, it doesnt strip your hairs of its natural oils.
2. Always towel try before applying conditioner. Curly hair is very dry naturally and this helps the hair shaft absorb the moisture. (I sometimes use a hand towel in the shower.)
3. Dont touch your hair with a brush. (brushing your hair seperates the curls = afro)
4. Apply some oil to the hair…yes, a few tiny drops of regular baby oil can work wonders.
5. Let it dry naturally or with the help of a hair dryer.
6. Then I apply some serum to smooth it down a little. (Also make it last the whole day/night)
7. On the odd occasion, I use the ghd to “flatten” the curls. Without brishing i gently run the ghd down my hair all around. Breaks some of the harsh ringlets.
- Excuse my bad quick photoshop job, but I decided to show ya’ll how I look at both extremes :).

I also have alot to say about the Global Keratin with Juvexin Brazillian Blowdry treatment. I was REALLY keen to get this done, just to test it out. Since then I heard a few negative things from my hairdresser about the formaldehyde fumes and things. Will post soon about that! Pitty, looked do nice!
